Character Info
Full Name: Evander Qorth
Race: Terramentalist
Class: Terramentalist
Age: 21
Sexuality: Bisexual
Bio (personality/history):
Personality: Evander is typically a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, but he knows when to be serious... most of the time. He is easily distracted, often by bugs, things that flicker, and things that spin. He is baffled by the way some people can meet and instantly become friends. Evander has a brave side, but he knows when he is in over his head... most of the time. He does not particularly enjoy or dislike meeting new people, as long as they are interesting. He believes that life is all about adaptation and diversity. However, even with this view, drastic changes nearly drive him mad. Gradual changes, casual life; that is what Evander believes is most important.
Evander is a natural-born leader. His people skills have helped him gain many friends. He is a characteristically extroverted, outgoing person. Evander has always been quick to make friendships and connect with strangers. He has a lot of confidence in himself and his skills. However good a leader Evander is, he has a much greater preference towards being a follower. He takes orders well and carries them out as best he can. But he will only follow a good leader. Because of his natural set of leadership skills, he knows what to look for in a good leader. If he does not see those traits, he will either help them along or take over and lead by example. People often follow leaders simply because Evander will follow them.
Given his natural leadership, people often assume that his strategies in battle are magnificent. He laughs at the thought of someone sitting around, thinking of ways to defeat their opponent. His philosophy in a fight? “Charge!” Absolutely no thought about strategy except “Hit it. Hit it hard. Hit it harder.” He occasionally has a “bright” idea, but they do not always work out the way he intends them. His fighting style typically has a bit of flair to it, but reflects his personality almost impeccably. Without having a reason to fight, Evander will not take his opponent seriously. He is most serious when he is defending or protecting someone or something. He also holds a belief that a battle is not measured by how much fame or power one gets from it, but by what is protected.
Appearance: Evander weighs 170 lbs and is 5-foot, 10-inches tall, so he has a fairly lean frame. But he's not just skin and bones. Keeping active within Quakerion has helped him develop and keep his muscle tone. His Hazel eyes have a piercing gaze that seem to peer right through to your heart, but don't really seem to look at anything in particular. His dirty-blond hair is quite short, measuring less than an inch long. Other than his eyes, nothing really draws attention to his face. His skin is slightly tanned.
Evander's usual outfit includes brown, cotton pants and a black, skin-tight cotton shirt. He wears black leather boots. These boots are waterproof as well as comfortable.
History:
Born in an isolated village in the South Quakerion, Evander grew up with less than the people in more populated areas did. His mother was a natural-born hunter, who seemed to have her own style. His father was a swordsman who could control small stones, but usually no more than a pebble.
When Evander was about five years old, his village was attacked by a monster. Evander and his parents managed escaped and ran to a nearby forest. His parents, however, went back to find survivors but did not return. When Evander returned to search for them in the morning, all he could find was a ruined village, burned to the ground.
By the time Evander was eight, he had managed to find his way to the slums of Rockmount, where he met his childhood friends, Jana (3 at the time) and Aer (9). When he and the other two finally warmed up to each other, they were nearly inseparable. Led by Aer, the trio would often sneak out of the city to go play in the surrounding forest. Their favorite pastime was to see who could climb the highest. Aer and Evander were highly competitive, but Aer won more and more as they grew older. Evander gradually began to feel that there was something outside of the forest that he needed to do, but could never place what it was. He would often talk to Aer and Jana about it, but they repeatedly dismissed it as something useless. Evander believed that it had something to do with the monster that destroyed his home, but didn’t want to think about that thing. His nightmares were bad enough.
As he grew older, he would help the merchants and shop owners in Rockmount so he could help feed his adopted family. When he was 18, a traveling Terramancer saw Evander's potential and offered to train him.
RP sample (optional, but recommended):
The sharp fangs in Leormon's mouth struck, holding the strange insect in his mouth. As Theodore came to try and finish the aggressor off, the insect showed that he wasn't done yet: opening his mouth, he let out another electrified thread toward the Theodore, hoping to at least affect him before the feline was done with him.
Oh, crap! Theodore throws the "quarterstaff" like a javelin, attempting to re-route the electrified webs. If the branch were more balanced, his plan would have worked. Unfortunately, the branch was not balanced. It simply hit the ground before it came in contact with the webs.
Theodore tried to dive out of the way, but was not quick enough to avoid the attack. The web caught the outside of his left leg. Theodore felt like he had been hit by a Taser. He dropped to the ground and began to convulse uncontrollably until Leormon squeezed the bug with his jaws again. The electrical charge traveling through the threads suddenly stopped, releasing Theodore from his convulsions. Theodore was unconscious, but breathing.
Leormon bit down on the little cretin again to insure that it could not (or would not) attack them again. He tosses it away from them and walks over to Theodore and paws at his face a few times. When Theodore moans and opens his eyes, Leormon swatted him in the face. You really are an idiootti sometimes... What did you think was gonna happen? Hm?
Other: Pa'landri is the first RP of its kind that I've tried, so bear with me while I get the hang of it.
