Races - Appearance Q: What are the differences between the Lupine and Werewolves?A: Lupine are always in a humanoid wolf form. They can speak, reason, plan, form societies, and are in general just as intelligent as any of the human races. Werewolves, meanwhile, are humans (specifically Mundane) inflicted with the "disease" that is lycanthrophy, which causes them to once a month on the full moon turn into a beast-like form where they are incapable of coherent thought or self control. "Werewolf" is a man-made term and Lupine greatly frown upon being associated with the disease, especially since they don't even resemble each other as much as many seem to believe. A Lupine might for example look like this.......While a werewolf (in beast form) looks more like this!Q: Do I HAVE to follow the appearance/name customs of my desired race?A: It is strongly recommended, but not explicitly required. As long as you stay within realistic boundaries any name could theoretically be accepted. Q: So, uh, how about them anthro genitalia? Are interspecies romances a possibility/allowed?A: For the second question: Yes and yes. For the first: I figured this question would arise sooner or later. The looks of the anthros' nether parts varies between the various races. Here's a quick list summarizing each of them individually. - Lupine: Human.
- Feline: Human.
Elapine: Semi-human. Columbine: Semi-human. Piscine: Non-human.
Q: Follow up to the previous question; Can a human and an anthro produce offspring?A: No. They can do the do if they feel like it, but they are not otherwise biologically compatible. I would suggest adoption to any human/anthro couples out there discouraged by this. Q: Which anthro has the biggest, er, thing?A: As with humans, size vary between individuals, however speaking average size it is a tie between Lupine and Elapine. Q: Is it possible for a Mundane and an Elementalist to be related?A: Absolutely! Two Mundane can not have an Elementalist child, but two Elementalists can have a Mundane child, and a Mundane and an Elementalist can definitely have children together. Q: How does the way people dress vary from county to county?A: Obviously, dress customs vary largely depending on the terrain of each county and what is appropriate because of it. To put it simply, you could explain each county's clothes like this: - Thorion: Being housed in the north, they feature a lot of fur, thick coats, sturdy boots and gloves to handle the cold. Examples: Fur cloak, Fur Coat, Other.
- Volcanion: On the other hand, being the hottest region, looks vastly different from their nordic neighbors. Their clothes are loose, thin, and bright, to protect them from the heat. Examples: Simple clothes, Military, Other.
- Palandrion: At the center of the land and with mild weather, Palandrion clothes are typically what you would expect form a medieval city. Examples: Casual, Noble Male, Noble Female.
- Sieron: With the Sieron people's obsession with being "pure", and with a county climate matching the capital's, their dress customs are much the same as Palandrion's. The exception is the clothing of the seafaring population. Example: Sailor.
- Quakerion: Quakerions tend to dress in relatively tight fitting clothes with tones of green and brown, which allows them to easily navigate and blend into the forests around their county. Capes and long straps of clothes are avoided as they easily gets caught in branches and such likes. Examples: Archer, Casual, Boots.
Q: When it comes to hair dyes, make ups etc, what is available? On earth we used henna and eggplant back in the day to dye hair black and red, so does Palandri have plants that can also be made into dyes? Also, what colors are super rare and normal? In the ancient days a "seller of purple" was a title of status since purple was a color for royalty because it was so rare. Is that the same for Palandri? A: The dying of hair and usage of makeup are near nonexistent everyday practices in Palandri, though all the more common is warpaint, particularly among the anthropomorphic races. When two Lupine packs clash, they may each stain their furs with a common color to more easily be able to tell friend from foe in the heat of battle.
Several plants and minerals can be used to create paint and dyes, the most common being black, red, brown, and blue. Yellow, Green, Orange, and purple are uncommon but not unseen. The rarest of dyes/paints are white, beige, and pink.
No special titles exist for those who sell paints/dyes.
Q: The houses use brands as a mark of pride, but what about the tribes and other races? Is scarification popular, or getting small tattoos? What about piercings? A: Piercings are not a thing in Palandri. Tattoos are common only among magic users and criminals. Among the tribes, Feline and Elapine like scars, Lupine and Columbine do not, and Piscine like inflicting them on others.

Races - Customs / Religion Q: What different languages are there? Is there one universal language, but also county specfic ones?A: Having not to long ago been a unified nation, there is only one language spoken among the men and women across the land. Accents and a few words here and there may differ somewhat but all in all, it's one and the same. The more animalistic races can of course communicate with each other with body language much more effectively than humans, however, they, too, mainly speak the same tongue as the others. Q: Do different counties have different accents?A: Indeed they do! List of comparison: - Palandrion: London, British
- Sieron: NJ, American
- Quakerion: South Island, New Zealand
- Thorion: Swedish, Scandinavian
- Volcanion: Sán Sebastian, Spain
Q: Do I have to be a Descendant to be a member of any of the four houses?A: No, but to be a "real" member you do have to be an elementalist of the house you wish to be a part of. You can then either be a member as a result of an arranged marriage, an illegitimate child, or a child who was born without the blessing of the Goddess. You can only be of a non-elemental class if your character is either of the last two. NOTE! You cannot rise to the rank of a Duke or Duchess (a leader of the house) unless you play a descendant. Sorry! Q: Do players get to decide on arranged marriages or is it picked by the admin?A: Arranged marriages between characters are arranged by the admin, assuming there are two or more eligible marriage candidates within the same area. However, if either character have a played parent or guardian in the rp, their input will be carefully considered on the matter. Q: Are there any special ceremonies that tribes partake in, like in the lupine packs?A: The anthromorphic races are not big on ceremonies. Birthdays and other personal events are commonly celebrated. Beyond that, the only major ceremony conducted by any of them are the Lupine's naming ceremony, where the pack collectively decide on a name for a Lupine who has come of age. Q: At what age do you legally become an adult?A: 18. Q: How are sex workers treated? Are they held in higher regard in some cultures and lower than others?A: In Sieron and Quakerion, sex workers are frowned upon. Elsewhere they are accepted as a working class, like craftsmen and merchants. Q: Pa'landri is revered as a goddess, so do other dragons have kingdoms? Are they seen as Pa'landri's lessers? Are there other religions? A: During the time of Pa'landri's rule, other dragons were held in high regard for being associated with her, though they did not have their own kingdoms. Technically they were just another race in the land. Once Pa'landri passed away the respect for her race fell almost instantly and today, dragons are treated little better than animals (or they would be, if anyone knew they still existed). Most worship the High Goddess. Beside that the only other "religion" is made up by the cults who worship undead beings. NOTE! Players/characters are allowed to create their own religions/beliefs. If they are followed by at least 10 characters played by different players, it will be regarded as a legit religion. Q: How are weddings and funerals different in each county? How do funerals differ between classes? Are the royals buried in fancy mauselems and the poor just hacked up and dumped?A: Weddings: - Weddings are handled pretty much the same in each county. What marks a married person differs though. Palandrions wear rings or other jewlery given to them by their special ones. Sierons tie a custom made ribbon around their wrist or in their hair. Quakerion's paint matching marks on their faces (ex. a married couple each has a blue dot under their left eye). Volcanions go as far as to burn a mark into one another's palms. Thorions exchange a small personal possession with one another, carrying it with them at all times. Neutral societies adapt the wedding marker of their closest county. Anthromorphs do not marry, but they do partner up.
Funerals: - Prisoners of war, criminals, traitors, and beggars are simply disposed off as garbage after death. Other than that, House members and regular folks are given equal funeral treatment. Sieron sends their dead out to sea. Quakerion buries their dead. Volcanion burns them. Thorion's dead simply disappears. Individual funerals may be handled differently depending on circumstance or their own/their friend's wishes.
Q: Do the anthromorphs live side by side with their non-humanoid animal equivalents? A: Piscine mainly eat fish, Elapine eat snakes and lizards, Feline have driven most big cats out of their territories. Lupine and Columbine get on relatively well with their animal equivalents, though it is notable that they can not communicate with them unless they are Beastmasters. Q: What kind of foods are indigenous to each country?A: Sieron specialises in spicy seafoods. Volcanion prefers mild meat. Quakerions serve sweet fruit. The food in Thorion varies greatly and nobody knows what's in it. Q: What's the world view on gender politics and same sex relationships?A: Men and women are equals. Same sex relationships are fully accepted among all but the noble people, who frown upon it somewhat while still tolerating it. Q: Can a duke in love with another man marry that man without giving up his rights to the throne?A: The short answer is no. The long answer is: Members of any House have their marriages arranged, and to reject an arranged marriage is to betray their House. A duke or duchess - or any other House members hoping to take the throne - are married to people of the opposite sex to ensure they produce heirs and pass on the blessing of the Goddess. They may, however, legally have a lover of the same gender beside their spouse. Q: If someone is an illegitimate child to the throne, they have no claim to it, but disregarding that, how to cultures differ in their treatment? A: Aside from Sieron, who dispose of illegitimate children promptly, the others simply ignore their existence. If the parent of an illegitimate child has any other children, however, these lose their claim on the throne, illegitimate or not. Q: What is the judical system like? What's the usual punishment for treason, theft, murder, etc.? Do these sentences differ from country to country? Who hands these sentences down? And do the countys agree upon them? Could you commit murder in one, and then run to another where they're like "naaah son. you safe here"?A: Crimes committed against a House is punished with execution. Crimes committed against/for any other reason can be "excused" if you have the coin. If not, the usual punishments - in order of severity - are imprisonment, forced servitude, and death. This goes for all counties. Crimes committed against a House are addressed by the head of that house. Other crimes are handled by the city guards or whoever the ruling House has appointed as responsible. Counties track their crime individually, so yes, if you commit a murder in one and then flee to another, you would theoretically be safe. Assuming the one you murdered weren't a citizen of the nation you fled to. Q: How old do you have to be to enlist in each country's military? A: 15.

Classes & The Black Pearl Q: Why are some classes on the species list yellow instead of blue?A: Classes marked as yellow instead of blue on the list of races signifies that that class is exclusive to that race, and can not be learnt by any other, not even as a secondary class! Q: I have 50SP with one character, and an additional 50SP on another. Can I combine them to buy a 100SP item in TBP?A: Unfortunately not. The amount of SP you have across all your characters doesn't add up, so if you want to get a 100SP item from TBP you're just going to have to save up for it with one of your characters. Q: Can we buy a skill for our characters called like Accent God or something?A: Perhaps in the future. Q: Is there an artisan class, and does it exist above or below the merchant class?A: There is! They exist on equal terms with the merchant class. Q: When playing a descendant, how does your starting level compare to a normal mentalist? For example, is a level one aeromentalist descendant equal to a level three aeromentalist and so on?A: A level 1 descendant is about equal to a level 5 elementalist. A level 10 descendant would equal to a level 15 elementalist. Q: Can magic users sense magic in those around them? Or are there specialists that can sense out who has the gift, and who does not? (For example, when you're a baby do they wait and see if you have a gift, or does a wise sage come and inspect your soul?)A: No, they can not. To see if a baby can use magic, they will simply have to wait and see. It tends to show very early on though, so it's not that difficult to tell.

Races - Other Q: When is a cat, not a cat?A: When it's a Feline. Q: Are slaves a thing?A: Discrimination between races are common, slaves less so. The slaves that DO exists are not in their position because of their gender or race, but rather prisoners of war/battle who are forced to serve their captors. Q: Any revolutionary groups who want to take the power away from the counties?A: There are many who dislike the idea of a member of either House sitting on the throne, though none currently have the means with which they could hope to openly oppose them and survive. It is not unthinkable this could change in the near future. Q: How do the citizens of the free cities feel about the bitch fight everywhere else? A: Most would rather remain neutral and keep out of the way. Some would like to pat the warring nations on the head. With a chair. Q: Do people keep pets? Cats and dogs?A: They do! Cats, dogs, and various types of birds are the most common household pets. Q: Are elves a thing? Orcs? Dwarves?A: Neither of those exist in Palandri, though you may or may not see a variation of one of them at a later date. Q: How do the royal families work? I mean like, are decisions strictly based upon the solitary ruler? Or do they have some sort of court full of people they trust?A: The leading Duke or Duchess of a house is the absolute point of power in their county. They may, if they wish, appoint advisors or people to act on their behalf, though that doesn't change that the Duke/Duchess' has the last word. Q: What's the literacy rate in non-noble citizens? What is the education system like?A: House members and nobles are highly educated, non-nobles education vary. In the largest cities even some of the lowest standing citizens have had some semblance of an education, be that just a year or more than that. Literacy is generally fairly alright in the majority of non-noble citizens, but it's still not uncommon to come across someone who can't read. Q: Are taxes paid?A: By all but the ruling houses, yes. Q: How far have they gotten in the medicinal field?A: Considering half the population are able to use magical means of healing themselves, not much time is otherwise invested into advancing the medicinal field. Those without magic rely on herbs, salves, and potions for their healthcare needs. Q: What is the main currency in Palandri? What do the wild tribes use? IyaA: Gold Sovereigns, Silver Crowns, Copper Bits. 1G = 10S. 1S = 100C. Wild tribes do not use currency, instead they use favors or trade items between each other for other items. Q: Is currency like accents and languages? Each has their own but gold is gold and accepted everywhere? Or is it just flat gold and coins and also trading?A: Gold, Silver, and Copper are used by every nation, though currency made in a specific county carries that county's House mark on it. Usually the money is accepted in other counties regardless of where it came from, though you may have to be ready to be rejected if you, say, try to use Volcanion Silver Crowns to buy something in Sieron. Palandrion currency is marked with a dragon symbol and accepted everywhere.

World & Travel Q: How long does it take to travel from one kingdom to another by foot?A: Assuming the traveler goes at a steady pace of at least 3,1 mph, only breaks for a maximum of 8 hours (food, sleep, etc) during every 24hour cycle, and encounters no major hindrances along the way, this is how long it would take to travel between kingdoms on foot. NOTE! These are only rough estimations of distance and time. Palandrion (Capital): 74,4 miles across (32 hours to walk, no hinder, 8hour break) Palandrion Border - Sieron Border: 148,8 miles (64 htw, nh, 16hb) Palandrion - Waviera: 669,6 miles (288 htw, nh, 72hb) Palandrion B. - Volcanion B.: 223,2 miles (96htw, nh, 24hb) Palandrion - Ignis; 744 miles (320htw, nh, 80hb) Palandrion B. - Thorion B.: 372 miles (160htw, nh, 40hb) Palandrion - Skaeya: 892,8 miles (384htw, nh, 96hb) Palandrion B. - Quakerion B.: 446,4 miles (192htw, nh, 48hb) Palandrion - Boul: 967,2 miles (416htw, nh, 104hb) Sieron B. - Thorion B.: 744 miles (320htw, nh, 80hb) Waviera - Skaeya: 1562,4 miles (672htw, nh, 168hb) Sieron B. Volcanion B.: 669,6 miles (288 htw, nh, 72hb) Waviera - Ignis: 1488 miles (640htw, nh, 160hb) Sieron B. - Quakerion B.: 446,4 miles (192htw, nh, 48hb) Waviera - Boul: 1264,8 miles (544 htw, nh, 136hb) Volcanion B. - Thorion B.: 148,8 miles (64 htw, nh, 16hour break) Ignis - Skaeya: 812,4 miles (352 htw, nh, 88hb) Volcanion B. - Quakerion B.: 744 miles (320htw, nh, 80hb) Ignis - Boul: 1339,2 miles (576htw, nh, 144hb) Quakerion B. - Thorion B.: 1116 miles (480htw, nh, 120hb) Boul - Skaeya: 1785,6 miles (768htw, nh, 192hb) Q: What's the standard mode of transportation?A: Those why can fly, flies. The piscine swim, and the other anthro prefer to go by foot/tail. High ranked elementals use their own magic to transport themselves, while lower ranked and mundane tend to take to horseback for longer journeys. Q: Is there world outside of the country? Or is it something that just isnt explored?A: For all but the Volcanions, who passionately believes it to be true, the Land beyond the Sea is nothing but a myth. Some speculate there may be something like it out there, but there have never been any consistent proof of it's existence. Anyone who has dared travel beyond Palandri's borders have never returned. Q: Is the world round?A: Presumably. Q: How is age kept track of? Whats the Palandri calender like? Are the seasons as well defined as ours?A: The years are counted from the moment of the High Goddess salvation of the land, beginning the "Time of Light", as opposed to the Dark Ages which came before. The current year, for example, would be 4945T.L. The New Year is in the summer, during the Great Awakening Festival. Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring are kept track off using the moon cycle, which is the same as our own. Months are referred to simply as the First, Second, or Third Moon of [Insert current season]. Q: Is winter coming?A: Yes. Brace yourselves. Q: What natural disasters are common for every territory and around what time of year are these occurences more common? Thorion: - Blizzards, Autumn and Winter
- Avalanches, All Year Around
Volcanion: - Droughts (west), Summer, Spring, and Autumn
- Wildfires (west), Summer
South of Volcanion: - Floods, Autumn and Spring
Sieron: - Hurricanes (along coast), Late Summer and early Autumn
- Rainstorms, Autumn

Miscellaneous Q: Do guns exist? Or is everything sharp things and daggers?A: Sharp things, daggers, spears, bows, crossbows, axes, maces. Q: What weaponry is used between nations?A: No nation has a preferred kind of weapon that is much different than the others'. It only varies between classes and individuals. Q: What kind of instruments are there, and are there different genres of music?A: Instruments include: - Bagpipes
- Cornamuse/Crumhorn/Dulcian
- Dulcimer
- Gemshorn
- Harp
- Fiddle
- Lute
- Drum
- Transverse Flute
- Hurdy-Gurdy
The most common and popular genre is by far, trouvères, though other variations exist. Religious music is near nonexistent, even if the Goddess is often mentioned. Q: What range of alcohol exists in Palandri?A: Drinking is a large part of the lives of most Palandrians, and have always been very creative and enthusiastic about coming up with new beverages. Whether you are a big drinker or one who prefers to sip, there is most definitely something for everyone, and the range of alcohol goes from very low to life threatening amounts. The strongest alcoholic drink currently in existence is the "Dragon's Blood", which includes extract from the Dragon's Breath fruit found on wyvern island. Some places regard it as a poison rather than a drink, as it is almost instantly lethal if consumed. Doesn't stop people from drinking it, though.
